Man from Nebraska | The Blue Barn Theater 614 South 11th Street
I've mentioned this to a few of you -- but I will be playing a role in the next play at The Blue Barn -- Man from Nebraska. It is a wonderful production, directed by Susann Suprenant -- and I'm honored to be a part of this amazing cast. The show opens on Thursday April 17th -- and runs through May 10th. I hope that you'll be able to catch a performance.
A luxury sedan, a church pew, and visits to a nursing home form the comfortable round of Ken Carpenter's daily life. And then one night, he awakens to find that he no longer believes in God. This crisis of faith propels an ordinary middle-aged man into an extraordinary journey of self-discovery. This wickedly funny and spiritually complex play examines the effects of one man's awakening on himself and his family.
Man from Nebraska was written by the Pulitzer Prize winning author, Tracy Letts, and will be directed at The Blue Barn by Susann Suprenant. Starring Jonathan Wilhoft in the role of Ken Carpenter, and a stellar cast including, among others, Delany Driscoll and Nick Zadina.
Ticket are $19 for adults and $15 for seniors and students.

Neva Dinova at The Waiting Room Lounge with Ladyhawk & No Blood Orphan
Neva Dinova are treasured heroes of the Omaha music scene. Originally started as an impromptu songwriting collaboration between guitarist and vocalist Jake Bellows and bassist Heath Koontz, the two eventually got bored of their basement seclusion and decided to enlist the support of others. What they created was a five-piece musical tour de force, that includes guitarists Tim Haes and Mike Kratky, and drummer Roger Lewis. After years of playing around the mid-West, the five-piece have developed a loyal fan base and spawned an ever-expanding audience. Sonically, the presence of three guitarists has allowed for rapid development of the band's trademark sound, marked by swirling countermelody and assorted textures. It is around this musical fabric that Bellows' truly inspiring, poetry-based lyrics are centered and from where the Neva Dinova critically acclaimed signature sound has developed.
The band's new album, You May Already be Dreaming, is beautiful and brilliant (available for sale in shops and at http://www.saddlecreekrecords.com) -- please come out and see the guys play at The Waiting Room Lounge before they hit the road for tour.
